a job but can't find one our work isn't done. >> reporter: rounding out his day campaign stops in nevada and colorado. it combined 15elect, roal votes. the running mates also out in full force. four campaign events between the two. in iowa, the vice president accused the romney campaign of flip-flopping. > >> they are shameless. >> reporter: in colorado paul ryan argued the obama policies aren't working >> reporter: over the next several days you can expect to see more events just like those in the remaining swing states. also though don't be surprise fire department the campaigns -- surprised if the campaigns decide to add extra stops. >> talked more about where they will be so tell us in the remaining days where. >> reporter: this is going to be one busy schedule for both of them. let's start with romney and show you what he will be up too tomorrow. he will travel to wisconsin and ohio and then over the weekend he will make five more trips to different states. moving onto obama tomorrow he will be in ohio as well and then he will visit six other battleground states over the weekend.

. but the critical swing states from nevada to wisconsin to florida and others in between will determine who occupies the white house next january. throughout the election, neither candidate has managed to take a commanding lead in the polls. over the past few weeks, it tightened up. so it makes for what could be a very long election night. in chicago, tory dunnan now back to you. >> voting is underway in the first presidential election results are in for those living in dictionville notch new hampshire. for the first time in the small town's history there was a tie. president obama and his republican rival governor romney each received 5 votes. middle of the night voting has been a tradition in dictionville notch since 1960. another town also voted at midnight obama beat romney in that location the results 23-9. >>> the people in dictionville notch may not be able to pick awinner but kids in baltimore had no problem deciding. more than a thousand students cast ballots and the president won by a landslide. students in hamilton conducted a mock election as part of the voters of tomorrow initiative. >>

playing defense. the president, back on the campaign trail today. going to wisconsin, colorado and nevada. mitt romney will be campaigning in virginia. george, you can expect both of them to be campaigning virtually nonstop between now and tuesday. >> no question about it. they're going to be focused on the white battleground states and the pink in north carolina, over the next several days. want to give you a sense of each side's strategy. what the obama campaign is trying to do is build a firewall in the big american states, iowa, wisconsin. he gets to 271 electoral votes. and if mitt romney wins all of the other battlegrounds right there, he'll come up a little bit short, which may explain, jon, one of the reasons the romney campaign is trying to put new efforts into minnesota and pennsylvania and michigan, where they have been behind so far. but if they're able to pick off any one of those three states, that's enough to put him over the top. and one of the things we're seeing, you talk about the travel in the last few days. these battleground states, jon, are also completely inundated
